It’s Book Fair Time!

Celebrate reading with the PS153 Parents Association (PA) by joining the Spring Book Fair with Scholastic. The fair will run from April 16th – 18th, with special events set-up each day for students and families.

Students can purchase books with cash or from their eWallet balance during the school day. Parents may use their credit cards to purchase books during our special events.

A portion of all purchases are used to support the PA budget and our year long programming.

Important: sales tax will be added to all purchases.

eWallet

Students can make purchases using cash or their eWallet balance. The eWallet is funded by family and friends and redeemable during the fair. It’s a cash-free and worry-free way to allow students to shop the book fair.

Special Events

We have special events each day of the book fair. No purchases are required to join. See below to learn more about them:

Tuesday: Virtual Book Fair
Families can join a special Zoom virtual book fair and browse the fair virtually with one of our volunteers. Once you’re done, payments can be made via the eWallet and the books given to your children the next day.

Wednesday: Story & Craft Time
Stop by after pick-up for a special afternoon with crafts inspired by the books from the fair. At select times, we’ll host 2 story times and discuss the book afterwards.

Thursday: Family Reading Time
Relax with a parent, aunt/uncle, sibling, grandpa/grandma, or a friend, and read some stories together. All are welcome.

Thursday: Family Event with the Illustrator of The Sour Grape
Join Pete Oswald, the Illustrator of The Sour Grape, for a live virtual event where students learn how to draw a character from the story, and ask questions from the book.

Volunteer With Us

We need your help to make the book fair a success. Parent volunteers can help students shop during the school day or help out during our special events. If you’re interested in helping, let us know by filling out the form below. Thank you!
